Dunedin International Airport Ltd

  • Major infrastructure, safety, services and relationships
  • Lead the delivery of the vision
  • Dunedin, New Zealand

Our vision: Connecting our place, to more people, in the best way, every day.

Dunedin Airport is at a pivotal stage in its planning for the future of air travel in a dynamic and innovative global industry.

Dunedin International Airport Ltd (DIAL) has been giving a warm southern welcome to travellers since 1962 and was upgraded in 1996 to accept international flights. The Airport processes about one million airline passengers each year and manages relationships with a number of Airlines. DIAL is a Council Controlled Trading Organisation with two shareholders (Dunedin City Holdings Ltd and the Crown) and is governed by a Board of independent directors. The company manages both airside and landside infrastructure and facilities, as well as other aligned assets.

Reporting to the Chair of the Board, the CEO will lead all aspects of DIAL’s operations to achieve growth, return for shareholders and outcomes in line with the strategic plan. This will be achieved by providing empowering leadership and operational management that ensures long term viability and value growth for DIAL, its staff, shareholders and the wider community.

Safety and security is the number one priority. Ensuring that the business meets legislative requirements whilst balancing commercial initiatives, sustainability and optimising use of assets, combined with strengthening customer, partner and stakeholder relationships is critical.

Developing and recommending strategy, policies and projects to the Board whilst also managing the operational effectiveness of the Airport will be a key challenge. DIAL is a people-based business and your commercial and technical expertise will be complemented with a self-awareness that builds high performing teams and engaged stakeholders.

Applicants will demonstrate the following:

  • Proven leadership within an infrastructure setting where management of a diverse range of relationships is critical.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver strategic outcomes.
  • Empowering leadership with the ability to develop high performing teams and culture.
  • Operational leadership experience with a willingness to be hands-on when required.
  • A focus on innovation, change and driving business growth.
