The St Margaret’s College Foundation was established in 2009 to generate and steward gifts and donations from the School community. By encouraging a culture and traditional of generosity, the Foundation is committed to supporting the School to realise its vision to create empathetic, confident and connected global citizens who strive to make a positive difference.  Established to provide sustainable financial support to the School in partnership with the community, the Foundation has a funding goal and strategy that will create a legacy for the future.  The Foundation Fund is an endowment fund, held in perpetuity to ensure the long term financial sustainability of the School.


The Foundation Board brings together the skills and knowledge of the Old Girls, current and past parents, and staff who are committed to ensuring St Margaret’s College thrives now and into the future.


Reporting to the Chair of the Foundation Board, the Foundation Manager will lead the realisation of the strategy to secure a sustainable source of funding to be used for the continued advancement of the School and its students. This will be achieved through delivering the strategies to generate gifts, donations and corporate partnerships, and optimising the collective spirit of generosity that exists within the SMC community.


Implementing and delivering innovative fundraising strategies whilst building and maintaining positive long term relationships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders (individuals and organisations) is key to success in this role. Suitable applicants will be experienced working independently and collaboratively to engage with existing past, current and potential future donors.


Applicants will demonstrate the following attributes:


  • A strategic and operational understanding of fundraising, philanthropy and corporate giving.
  • A passion for quality independent schooling and the values of St Margaret’s College.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain positive long term relationships.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, engagement and presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive and achievement-orientated.
